No cooling call in Crandall,Tx
Upon arrival, we diagnosed the issue with the whole-home ventilation system, which was running continuously and pulling in outside air. This caused an increase in humidity inside the home. To resolve this, we shut off the control to stop outside air from entering the home, as this was contributing to the high humidity levels. Additionally, allowing outside air to enter could lead to the air filter getting dirty more quickly. The system has been adjusted to prevent further outside air intake, and the humidity levels should stabilize.
In Heath, TX, we recently replaced an evaporator coil as part of an HVAC system upgrade. The original evaporator coil had become inefficient, leading to poor cooling performance and increased energy consumption. We installed an ultraviolet (UV) light system, which is designed to improve air and surface quality by utilizing UV-C light. This technology works by emitting UV rays that are effective at killing or inactivating harmful microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and mold spores. The UV light disrupts the DNA or RNA of these pathogens, preventing them from reproducing and spreading, helping to create a cleaner and healthier environment. It’s especially useful in areas where sanitation is crucial, such as HVAC systems, water treatment, or healthcare settings.

Service Type: Preventive Maintenance
Description of Service:
1. Power Down: Disconnected the power supply to the heat pump to ensure safety before servicing.
2. Accessing the Coil: Removed the access panel and protective grille to expose the condenser coil. Inspected the overall condition of the coil for any visible signs of damage or excessive wear.
3. Inspection: Performed a visual inspection of the condenser coil. Noted a buildup of dirt, debris, and outdoor contaminants on the surface of the coil that could impair heat exchange efficiency.
4. Pre-Cleaning: Used a soft brush to remove loose dirt and debris from the condenser coil surface. Also inspected the fan blades for any obstructions or dirt buildup.
5. Washing the Coil: Applied an approved coil cleaner (Carrier-recommended, non-acidic cleaner) to the condenser coil. Let the cleaner sit for the recommended amount of time to break down grease, grime, and other contaminants. Ensured that the cleaning solution did not damage any electrical components.
6. Rinsing: Rinsed the coil thoroughly using low-pressure water to avoid bending or damaging the coil fins. Ensured proper drainage of water from the coil area.
7. Fin Straightening: After rinsing, checked for any bent coil fins using a fin comb and carefully straightened them to ensure proper airflow and efficient heat transfer.
8. Reassembly and Testing: Reassembled the access panel and protective grille. Restored power to the unit, and ran the system in cooling mode to verify operation. Checked the system pressures and airflow to ensure the condenser was functioning at optimal capacity.

Spring AC Maintenance Check for Carrier Rooftop Unit
As we approach warmer weather, it’s the perfect time to perform a thorough spring AC maintenance on your Carrier Rooftop Unit. Regular HVAC maintenance ensures optimal performance, improves energy efficiency, and extends the lifespan of your system.
1. Inspect the Condenser Coil: Over the winter months, debris can accumulate on the condenser coils. Clean the coils to maintain proper airflow and prevent strain on the compressor.
2. Check Refrigerant Levels: Low refrigerant can lead to poor cooling performance. Verify that refrigerant levels are correct, and look for any leaks in the system.
3. Examine the Air Filters: Dirty or clogged filters can reduce airflow, causing the system to work harder. Replace or clean filters as needed to maintain efficiency.
4. Test the Thermostat: Ensure that the thermostat is accurately reading temperatures and communicating with the rooftop unit. Calibrate if necessary.
5. Clean and Inspect the Evaporator Coil: The evaporator coil absorbs heat, and a dirty coil can reduce cooling efficiency. Clean and inspect for any signs of wear or damage.
6. Check Drain Lines and Condensate Pan: Clear any clogs in the drain lines to prevent water damage and mold buildup. Ensure the condensate pan is free from rust or debris.
7. Inspect the Fan and Blower: Check the fan motor for any signs of wear or overheating. Lubricate as needed and ensure it operates smoothly.
8. Examine the Ductwork: Leaky or blocked ducts can reduce airflow and increase energy costs. Seal any visible leaks and ensure proper insulation.
