Washing condenser coil. Garland, Tx

Garland

Service Type: Preventive Maintenance

Description of Service:

1. Power Down: Disconnected the power supply to the heat pump to ensure safety before servicing.

2. Accessing the Coil: Removed the access panel and protective grille to expose the condenser coil. Inspected the overall condition of the coil for any visible signs of damage or excessive wear.

3. Inspection: Performed a visual inspection of the condenser coil. Noted a buildup of dirt, debris, and outdoor contaminants on the surface of the coil that could impair heat exchange efficiency.

4. Pre-Cleaning: Used a soft brush to remove loose dirt and debris from the condenser coil surface. Also inspected the fan blades for any obstructions or dirt buildup.

5. Washing the Coil: Applied an approved coil cleaner (Carrier-recommended, non-acidic cleaner) to the condenser coil. Let the cleaner sit for the recommended amount of time to break down grease, grime, and other contaminants. Ensured that the cleaning solution did not damage any electrical components.

6. Rinsing: Rinsed the coil thoroughly using low-pressure water to avoid bending or damaging the coil fins. Ensured proper drainage of water from the coil area.

7. Fin Straightening: After rinsing, checked for any bent coil fins using a fin comb and carefully straightened them to ensure proper airflow and efficient heat transfer.

8. Reassembly and Testing: Reassembled the access panel and protective grille. Restored power to the unit, and ran the system in cooling mode to verify operation. Checked the system pressures and airflow to ensure the condenser was functioning at optimal capacity.
